Devices can be hacked via Bluetooth, placing sensitive information at risk for theft. If you have no reason to have Bluetooth on, consider temporarily turning it off. Yesterday our DES students celebrated Unity Day! Our students started the day off by surrounding the building for a ceremonial hug of Driswood as well as many of our students supporting Unity Day by showing up in their best orange! "Orange" you glad for awesome people in the world? 🍊 Driswood Elementary students donned orange on Wednesday to celebrate Unity Day, the signature event of October's National Bullying Prevention Month. Students wore orange and held a parade to demonstrate their unity in displaying kindness, courage, and inclusion in their school and community. Way to go, Owls! 🦉

Sometimes you may get what seems like an email from a friend. But is your friend really the one sending the message? Always review the sender's email before replying to a message or clicking a link. Malicious files can extract personal data, monitor and transmit your activities, and even take over your device. Avoid suspicious or unnecessary downloads and scan documents with anti-virus software before opening. If you're still uncertain about a link, visit www.virustotal.com to check its safety. After many years of rising scores on the WVGSA test, JCS saw a steep decline during the pandemic, from which we have not recovered. The latest scores show staggering deficits in ELA and math that keep hundreds of children below the mark for proficiency. To ensure that our students are ready for academics and life beyond the classroom, we are adjusting our elementary education program for 3-5 grade students.
